Troy was born and raised in Zion, IL, and was saved at a Christian festival in Orlando, FL in 1982. After graduating from high school, Troy spent a year and a half studying Radio/TV production and Film production at Southern Illinois University. In 1988 troy transferred to Trinity Bible College as a missions major.

Lisa was born in Alaska, and grew up in Pennsylvania and North Dakota. Lisa was saved while attending Vacation Bible School at the age of seven. In 1987 Lisa began attending Trinity Bible College as a missions major, and graduated from Global University.

During their time in Bible college both Troy and Lisa were involved in short term missions trips. Troy did short term missions trips to Hong Kong, China and Thailand, and Lisa went on a short term trip to Bahamas.

After graduating in 1990 with a double major in Bible and Missions, Troy and Lisa were married and moved to Elizabeth, NJ, where they served as inner-city youth pastors and as teachers at the church’s Christian school. In the summer of 1992 Troy and Lisa were appointed as Assemblies of God missionaries to Cambodia.

After arriving on the field in January of 1994, Troy and Lisa spent two years doing church planting and serving as directors of the Kompong Cham Children’s Home, an orphanage of 120 children located in north-eastern Cambodia. In 1997 Troy and Lisa moved to Phnom Penh to begin serving as media ministries director for Cambodia. In that role they work to help other missionaries and Cambodian church leaders use media to better communicate in their ministries. Troy and Lisa also have long-term media-ministry partnerships with FEBCambodia and One Hope Cambodia.

After completing an MA in communications from Spring Arbor University, Troy has become more involved in developing and implementing training and mentoring programs for new missionaries to Cambodia, South-East Asia, and around the world. As a member of the Global Resource and Training Team, Troy helps to train Assemblies of God missionaries around the world on contextualization of the gospel. Troy also serves as Asia-Pacific regional trainer preparing and developing workers reaching out to over 834 million people in 40 countries and territories that remain unreached.

Troy is involved teaching about Buddhism and how to minister in a Buddhist context at The University of Valley Forge, Trinity Bible College and Graduate School, The Romanian Center of Cross-Cultural Studies, the Summer Institute of Buddhist Studies, Global University, and the Oral Learners Bible Institute. Troy serves on the board of Change The Map, an Assemblies of God World Missions initiative to raise up pray support and new missionaries to reach the Buddhist world, and serves on the advisory board for the Summer Institute of Buddhist Studies at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.

Troy and Lisa are passionate about reaching the lost and church planting among those who have never heard the Gospel. They are working to help develop church planting teams to plant churches in the capitals of Cambodian provinces that has never had an Assemblies of God church.

Dmetri was born in April of 1996, and Alex was born in November of 1997. After spending two years home schooling, both Dmetri and Alex attended and graduated from Hope International School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and the University of Valley Forge. They currently live and work in the United States.
