Asia-Pacific
In 2022 Troy and Lisa began serving as Asia-Pacific regional trainers, responsible for training all new global workers going to the 41 countries of the Asia-Pacific region. In addition, in 2024 Troy and Lisa began overseeing member-care for the Asia-Pacific region as well. These regional roles will allow Troy and Lisa to multiply their ministry through passing on more than 30 years of experience to new workers and help keep veteran workers on the field during difficult times and trials.
The Need
Asia-Pacific region has 41 countries and more than 2.5 billion people (more than 30% of the world’s population)
In addition to many unreached people groups (+), there are 368 Unengaged UPGS (++), and 26 Never Reached UPGS (+++)
- + Unreached People Groups (UPGS) – less than 2 believers per 100 people
- ++ Unengaged UPGS – no missionaries and no (or few) known believers
- +++ Never reached UPGS – unreached people groups that have never had an established church in their entire history
Progress
- Since 2012 Troy and Lisa have been mentoring new global workers in 5 countries
- Since 2022 Troy and Lisa have trained more than 100 new global workers going out to countries across the Asia-Pacific region
- Since 2022 Troy and Lisa have helped establish on-field training in 5 countries, and are currently working to develop on-field training for 8 more countries
The Vision
- To have well trained global workers planting the church among 5 of the Never Reached UPGS within 5 years
- To train and facilitate an increase of 537 new global workers for the Asia-Pacific region by 2033
- To see ministries established in 184 of Asia-Pacific’s Unengaged UPGS by 2033
- To establish a member-care network to maintain strong global workers throughout the Asia-Pacific region
